Planes, trains and automobiles represent a number of the stocks moving higher as of midday on Thursday. Continental Airlines (CAL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is up more than 10%, CSX Corporation (CSX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is enjoying a bounce of more than 8% and both Ford (F | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) and General Motors (GM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) are tacking on gains of more than 5% and 6%, respectively halfway through trading.

Among the Nasdaq's biggest midday movers is Joy Global (JOYG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which is ahead by more than 8%. The company announced that it was doubling the size of its share buyback program to $2 billion.
