Amazon.com (AMZN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) was among the stocks moving lower as of midday, down nearly 5% on retail industry reports that the holiday sales growth will be the slowest in six years. Also moving lower in the Nasdaq was Broadcom (BRCM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which was down more than 5% as of midday on Tuesday.
Notable midday gainers include Tempur Pedic International Ltd. (TPX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), up more than 9% and a pair of airlines stocks in AMR Corporation (AMR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) and Southwest Airlines (LUV | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), both gaining more than 5% halfway through trading on Tuesday.
